GENESIS - Final Site Survey Information Management

Genesis™ provides efficient data collection, analysis, and information processing tools to conduct radiological surveys in support of license termination. MARSSIM (NUREG-1575), the Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Investigation Manual, provided the requirements used to define Genesis™.

Application/Benefits

Application Benefits

Data Processing Processes data sets based on MARSSIM guidelines and automatically flags data that exceeds Derived Concentration Guideline Level (DCGL) values along with statistical test acceptance criteria values

Automated Measurement Download of Survey Instrument Data Eliminates data transcription errors and significantly increases worker productivity

Automated Measurement Conversion from Readings to Reporting Units Eliminates calculation errors and significantly increases worker productivity

Graphical Analysis Graphical expression of survey data with Posting, Quantile, and Quantile-Quantile plots

DCGL Maintenance Provides for a flexible system to accommodate site defined Derived Concentration Guideline Level (DCGL) values

Survey Unit Definition and Maintenance Defines the work to be performed, creates, classifies, and maintains survey units. Survey units are manageable areas of similar radiological characteristics

Survey Instruction Preparation Greatly automates the effort of the survey author in preparing instructions for each survey unit

Quality Control Measurements Quality Control measurement data sets are stored to help ensure Data Quality Objectives are met

Background Background references are stored for areas where background subtracting is required

Stand Alone Download Provides for remote data gathering and screening operation avoiding unnecessary trips to the main database host system

Administrative Control Ensures unauthorized access to the data system is prevented

Statistical quantity test value definition & maintenance Allows users to define and maintain statistical quantity acceptance criteria values including range, mean, median, and standard deviation

Data Testing Allows for testing a data set prior to processing to identify remediation requirements

Source Inventory Maintains information on sources used to qualify the instruments

Survey Instrument Tracking, Maintenance, and Control Ensures instruments used for surveys are in compliance with requirements

Training Requirements Ensures that only a qualified individual is allowed to execute an application

Error Message Maintenance Allows for customizing instructions for actions to be taken when specific error conditions occur
